National Pollutant Inventory
The National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) provides the community, industry and government with free information about substance emissions in Australia. It has emission estimates for 93 toxic substances and the source and location of these emissions.
NPI publication of 2010-2011 dataset
Data on emissions and transfers for 2010-2011 are now available - Media release, 30 March 2012
You can search through the NPI dataset by browsing the dataset, searching by the map, or using the detailed form. For more information on how to use NPI data, please refer to Understanding NPI data.

Preparing your 2011-2012 NPI report
In order to complete your NPI report, you'll need a copy of the NPI Guide to reporting. In addition, you will need to check for guidance material relevant to your industry type and on-site processes. A full list of available guidance materials, including recent updates can be found under industry reporting materials.
If you need to register for the NPI Online Reporting System, please download and complete a user registration form and return it to the NPI contact in your state or territory.
