Why do I need this tool?

The National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) web site provides a Make a map tool that can be tailored to your needs. To use, click the Make a map link on the NPI web site (www.npi.gov.au)

Make a Map on the Web

This tool highlights the pressures from a selection of pollutants or polluters on a particular area.

Is there a source of pollution near you?

The tool will locate any facility that reports to the NPI and will draw a map showing its locality. This map contains details such as nearby emitting facilities, roads, and water bodies. Selecting facilities on the map allows you to access individual facility reports.

The tool will also map estimates of pollution from some diffuse sources and sub-threshold industries.
