NPI Industry reporting
The aggregated emissions manuals complement the NPI Industry handbooks, and are intended to enable State and Territory Governments to estimate emissions from non-industrial activities (e.g. transportation, domestic and commercial activities) and emissions from industry which are not reported because the relevant thresholds are not exceeded.
This manual provides guidance on the estimation of aggregate emissions of NPI substances from domestic solid fuel burning for heating. Wood is the main solid fuel in use in Australia. Coal and briquettes are also used in smaller amounts. Other solid fuel sources are unlikely to be significant contributors to aggregate emissions. Domestic solid fuel combustion can be a significant contributor to overall area-based emissions.
