About the guide

The Environment Protection Authority South Australia has published a guide to help industry, government and communities gain a better understanding of the aim and use of the NPI.

The guide explains the types of emissions data available, potential uses of NPI data, common causes of data variation and suggestions for interpreting the data.

The interpretive guide is reproduced here with the written permission of the authors. Whilst the guide is a South Australian publication, it is applicable to all states and territories and is a useful tool for finding out more about emissions to the Australian environment.
