About the document
An evaluation of the National Pollutant Inventory (NPI) program was undertaken in 2000 by ARTD management consultants.
The purpose of the evaluation was to:
- meet the requirements of the Cabinet decision to undertake a review of the program;
- inform the Commonwealth's budget processes for future years;
- meet accountability requirements under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Commonwealth and State and Territory Governments;
- identify options for improvements in the delivery of the program.
The report assesses how effectively and efficiently the program is being implemented and the potential for meeting its long term objectives.
