Over the past ten years, the NPI has grown to be the most comprehensive source of data on the emissions of 93 toxic substances to the environment. The program is unique in tracking emissions across Australia. Providing this free information is key to the community, industry and government in order to make informed choices about the impacts and approach to potential sources of pollution.
The following provides a summary of the program including its aims, goals and how the data is used.
