Video
Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, 2008

Brief summary

Over the past ten years, the NPI has grown to be the most comprehensive source of data on the emissions of 93 toxic substances to the environment. The program is unique in tracking emissions across Australia. Providing this free information is key to the community, industry and government in order to make informed choices about the impacts and approach to potential sources of pollution.

In 2007, a number of changes to the NPI program were agreed to by environment ministers. This DVD provides an outline on what these changes are, as well as an overview of the NPI, with an introduction by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and the Arts the Hon Peter Garrett MP.
