About the Report
This report presents an overview of activities during 2003-04, and examples of the types of information that can be obtained from the NPI web site www.npi.gov.au. One of the aims of the NPI is facilitating cleaner production. The report provides information about cleaner production, along with a case study of some innovative solutions the Toyota Motor Corporation has introduced to help reduce pollutant emissions.
The report explains why substances are included in the NPI, and discusses the sources of pollutant emissions. There is a focus on the environmental destination of emissions: air, land and water.
Finally, a set of useful links to find out more about pollution and contact details of government agencies that are involved in the NPI are provided.
